Job Description

ACCESS's Summer Internship (Overseas) Programme provides students with opportunities to experience the R&D and related works on cutting-edge innovations of advancing IC design and design automation technologies to complement their academic studies, and for them to pilot a career in advanced technology in Hong Kong after graduation. Working with and learning from over 90 top professors, researchers, engineers, and Ph.D. students at ACCESS, interns will be able to gain hands-on experience and deepen their insight into the forefront and state-of-the-art AI technologies after the 8-week program running from June till August.

Responsibilities

Under the program, interns will be assigned duties in support of our research such as literature reviews, project administrative works, preparing data and graphics for project reports, R&D works, business and marketing activities, etc.

Requirements

Applicants should be full-time undergraduate students of overseas universities among the top 50 institutions for STEM-related subjects1, preferably majoring in electronics, electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent. He/she must be legally permitted to work in Hong Kong. Work location will be at the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park, with occasional business travels to the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) Clear Water Bay Campus and other Partner Universities of the Center when needed.

Specifically, the following knowledge and skills are preferred:

  • Programming skills in any of the following languages: Python, C/C++, Matlab, Verilog, VHDL, System Verilog, etc.
  • Knowledge in any of the following areas (s): machine learning algorithm/framework, digital/analog circuit, VLSI/IC design, EDA tools, compilation/simulation technology, etc.
  • Enthusiastic about pursuing a career in advanced technology
  • Creative, open-minded, and visionary with a sense of responsibility and good command of written and spoken English.
