Job Description
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will assist the Executive Director in performing the project management duties of ACCESS research programmes, providing support services to the research and development teams. S/he will be stationed at the Hong Kong Science Park, with occasional business travels to the HKUST Clear Water Bay Campus and other collaborating Universities of the Center when needed. Key responsibilities include: -
- Assist the Executive Director in managing and monitoring the Center's R&D project progress and activities, ensuring proper filing system for the project management record;
- Assist R&D project supervisor(s) and leader(s) in acquiring and managing the R&D equipment, tape-out, prototypes, etc., from planning, procurement, to daily maintenance;
- Act as technical writer to prepare technical write-ups for reporting and project-relevant collaterals for commercialisation;
- Coordinate with Project Investigators (PIs)/ faculties/ research students/ research staff on project matters which include gathering project information to assist R&D project supervisor(s) and leader(s) in feasibility study, consolidating regular technical reports, preparing presentation, demonstration and project analysis for various government returns;
- Assist the Executive Director in managing the process of IP filing and maintenance with the support from the host institution;
- Assist the Executive Director to prepare, review & process relevant agreement with all relevant stakeholders;
- Liaise and support all Centre activities;
- Carry out ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Applicants should have a bachelor's or a master's degree of a STEM (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)-related discipline and with at least three years relevant experience in project management or similar post. He/she must be legally permitted to work in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills with great sense of responsibility, ability to multi-task and work independently, and proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
Terms of Appointment
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
