The AI Chip Center for Emerging Smart Systems (ACCESS) recently celebrated a significant milestone with the successful conclusion of 100th technical seminar on 1 March 2024. From 2021, the regular ACCESS technical seminar series serves as a valuable platform for professors, postdoctoral students, research engineers, and researchers to exchange knowledge and engage in discussions on the latest developments in AI chip and system research. 100th ACCESS Seminar commenced with an opening remark by Prof. Tim CHENG, the Centre Director of ACCESS and Vice-President (Research and Development) of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) who, together with research teams from collaborating universities and the center’s research personnel, participated in and bore witness to this momentous hybrid event.
The seminar featured a distinguished presentation titled "From 3D-IC to Chiplet: A Historic Perspective," delivered by Prof. Yuan XIE, the Associate Center Director of ACCESS and Chair Professor from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Prof. XIE shared an insightful analysis and his remarkable achievements in chip and system research across various stages, as well as his industry and research experience to inspire young researchers the boundless potential of their future development.
Prof. CHENG expressed that the ACCESS Technical Seminars would embark on a new phase, providing an enriched platform for researchers to engage in effective communications on the center’s research foci, which would continue to contribute to the advancement of innovation for AI technologies.
