Prof. Giovanni De Micheli, a leading authority in the field of electrical and computer science, and currently the Director of the Integrated Systems Laboratory and the Scientific Director of the EcoCloud Center at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He is well-known for his outstanding contributions to automated design of Network on Chip. On 22 Nov 2024, Prof. De Micheli visited ACCESS and engaged in valuable discussions with the ACCESS Management and Research & Development Team, including Center Director Prof. Tim CHENG, Associate Center Director Prof. Chi Ying TSUI, Executive Director Dr. Luhong LIANG, as well as Faculties and Research Team members Prof. Dong ZHANG, Prof. Maolin WANG, Dr. Shawn HUO, and Dr. Yu LIU etc.
Prof. Tim Cheng presented to Prof. De Micheli with the recently accepted paper by ISSCC 2025, which has been lauded as the "Chip Olympics", stemming from ACCESS’s commercial-grade AI test chip AC-Transformer and the design automation tool AC-Copilot. He also showcased our latest research advancement in computing-in-memory. The visit fostered valuable discussion on potential future collaborations between EPFL and our center, significantly benefiting our research team and leaving a lasting positive impact.
